Vorig jaar hebben wij samen met Boskalis en ARP Equipment B.V. een elektrische asfaltcentrale gerealiseerd. Vandaag heeft Boskalis in hun jaarlijkse sustainability report hier wat over geschreven:
GELDERLAND PROVINCE, THE A348 MOTORWAY
In 2021 Boskalis completed the reconstruction of a 12 kilometer stretch of the A348 motorway between the towns of Arnhem and Dieren in the Netherlands’ Gelderland Province. The project’s focus on circularity through the re-use of old asphalt and deployment of an electric asphalt plant led to a saving of 91% of CO2 emissions against the design reference.
A significant proportion of the CO2 emitted by conventional asphalt production comes from the gas used to heat the asphalt plant. In the reconstruction of the A348, for the first time, Boskalis deployed an electric mobile plant that it has designed and built with its joint venture partners ARP Engineering. The plant, which is known as “Helice”, not only runs on electricity but also employs an innovative design that enables it to recycle a higher percentage of old asphalt than conventional methods. As a result, around 60% of the asphalt produced for the porous surface layer of the reconstructed A348 derived from recycled material.
In what was the first project of its kind, the plant produced asphalt at a rate of 15 tons per hour. However it is envisaged that, with further development and modifications to the process, this can be scaled-up to between 200 and 300 tons per hour, representing a significant potential reduction in emissions for future road-building projects.
ARP is trots op dit resultaat en is druk bezig om deze installatie voor grote productiecapaciteiten te ontwikkelen.

De transitie naar duurzame wegverharding gaat snel. Er wordt steeds meer gerecycled en bouwplaatsen moeten vaak CO2 neutraal zijn. Dit is goed en met de doelen van Rijkswaterstaat zullen er nog meer veranderingen komen. Benieuwd naar deze doelen en wat ARP daaraan bijdraagt? Lees dan het artikel.

Het was voor veel van onze klanten tijd voor periodiek onderhoudt aan hun lab equipment. Want nauwkeurig asfalt kwaliteit testen met een versleten machine is geen optie. Daarom hebben we alle slijtonderdelen vervangen en alles weer nauwkeurig afgesteld. Zo zijn het weer nette machines en kunnen onze klanten weer jaren vooruit.
2021
Met onze pilotinstallatie hebben we voor de eerste keer een hoop CO2 bespaart door klimaatneutraal asfalt te produceren voor het aanleggen van de A348 samen met Boskalis Nederland en Provincie Gelderland. Tijdens het testen en produceren is er het uiterste van de installatie gevraagd om alles te kunnen testen en zijn er heel veel gegevens verzameld die gebruikt gaan worden voor de toekomstige full scale installatie. Onderdeel worden van dit vooruitstrevende project is mogelijk. ARP is nog opzoek naar partijen (aannemers en opdrachtgevers met ambitie) die samen met ons de wereld een stuk beter willen maken door de asfaltketen CO2 neutraal te maken.
